Katy Sun
Hi! My name is Katy Sun and I am a high school intern at NOAA contracted under Science Technology Corp. I am currently a Junior at Monarch High and have been working with both STC and NOAA since I was a freshman. Currently, I am working as a data analyst studying the relationship between optical and chemical aerosol properties, specifically at the NOAA baseline station in Mauna Loa, Hawaii. I am the youngest out of three kids and grew up with two brothers in Superior, Colorado. I’ve always been really interested in science, especially in earth sciences and environmental science. 1.) What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this? If I weren't working in the science and engineering field, I would want to be a baker. Baking is one of my favorite hobbies, and it would be great to make that into a career. 2.) Do you have a pet? If so, what kind? I have a very friendly and energetic cat named Calvin. 3.) Tell us something that might surprise us about you. I studied dance from the age of 6 until my freshman year of college. I focused on ballet, hip hop, and musical theater and participated in many competitions. 4.) If you could choose a superpower, what would it be? I would want the power of teleportation. I could experience different things all over the world and not have to take any time traveling. |
